I’m a registered social worker and therapist in Alberta with a passion for helping couples strengthen their connection. I draw on evidence-based practices — including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Gottman Method interventions — to create safe, practical spaces for growth

  • This couples workshop is intended for couples at any stage of their relationship, married or not. If you are looking to improve your communication and strengthen your relationship, you’re in the right place.

    The workshop is not appropriate for couples with serious emotional or mental heath problems, addiction issues impacting the relationship, or emotional or physical abuse.

    If you have questions about whether or not it is suitable for you, please reach out for a free consult.

  • There is no sharing of personal information with others involved. All couples exercises are done privately.

  • Yes! Information from the book is summarized in the workshop, and you will have an opportunity to complete some of the exercises. Many couples choose to read the book after the workshop to consolidate their learning, but it is not necessary.

  • The workshop involves exercises which you complete with your partner, so both must attend. If one of you must miss part of the workshop, contact me to discuss this situation.

  • Bethany is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in the province of Alberta. If your insurance covers services by a Masters-level RSW, you may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement. Please verify this with your insurance company. You will be provided with a detailed receipt after the final session for you to submit for your insurance - direct billing is not an option for the workshop.

  • You may cancel your registration up to 2 weeks prior to the start date for a full refund, minus a $50 admin fee.

    Within 2 weeks from the start date, there is no refund. You may transfer your registration to another couple up to 24 hours before the start time at no cost, or you may apply your registration fees to the next offering of the workshop.

    If the workshop is cancelled by Birch Haven Therapy, you will receive a full refund.
